To enhance safety and eliminate the need for costly upgrades to the existing site lighting, we successfully implemented our KERBEYE Reflective Guidance System across a non-pedestrianised quarry access zone.

The installation incorporated over 1,000 retro-reflective KERBEYE units, strategically placed to deliver continuous demarcation of raised infrastructure, including kerbs, traffic islands, and access features. These units provided 360-degree reflectivity, ensuring that all key structures remained clearly visible from multiple angles, even in low light and poor weather conditions.

By defining the layout of the site with highly visible reflective markers, we enabled site users to navigate confidently and safely, reducing the risk of vehicle strikes, property damage, or misjudged manoeuvres, particularly during night-time operations or early morning site access.

The quarry operates a streamlined one-way IN and OUT traffic system, which we supported by installing green and red KERBEYE reflectors to distinguish the inbound and outbound lanes. This simple yet effective colour-coded system reinforced the site’s operational flow and helped ensure that all vehicle movements, especially those involving HGVs; remained controlled, efficient, and safe.

This project delivered a cost-effective and durable alternative to traditional lighting upgrades, providing long-term safety benefits and improving overall visibility and spatial awareness throughout the site. The outcome was a safer, more intuitive working environment, achieved with minimal disruption and zero ongoing maintenance requirements.
