As part of our ongoing commitment to improving road safety in rural areas, we recently completed a dedicated upgrade scheme enhancing visibility and guidance along a 500-metre stretch of high-risk country lane.
The works involved the installation of over 100 KERBEYE 360 Reflectors in a high-impact black and yellow colour scheme, specifically selected to provide maximum contrast against natural surroundings and boost visual recognition for approaching drivers.
These rural bends, often unlit and subject to sharp curves and limited sight-lines, pose a significant hazard, particularly at night or in adverse weather. The installed KERBEYE units deliver 360° retro-reflectivity, ensuring that each bend and edge of the carriageway is clearly defined from multiple approach angles.
By reinforcing the natural line of the road and guiding vehicles safely through the turns, this intervention reduces the likelihood of vehicle overrun, late braking, or off-road excursions. The result is a low-maintenance, high-durability safety enhancement that now plays a vital role in helping drivers navigate this challenging stretch with increased confidence and control.
This project highlights how simple yet strategic interventions can deliver immediate and long-term safety benefits in vulnerable rural environments.
