Renfrewshire Council
In support of Renfrewshire Council’s commitment to safer, more intuitive road environments, we’ve delivered a multi-location retrofit scheme that enhances visibility, improves infrastructure definition, and introduces new technologies designed to influence driver behaviour both day and night.
Rather than relying solely on conventional interventions, such as additional signage or painted markings, the scheme integrates over 80 precision-installed retro-reflective elements, designed to provide durable, low-maintenance safety enhancements across key locations.
This initiative also marks the introduction of two new innovations into our road safety portfolio: the R-360 PRO Studs and the GUARD-RAIL Reflector System.
The completed installation includes:
R-360 Studs, core-drilled and recessed into carriageway edges and central islands to provide uninterrupted 360° visibility, clearly outlining road geometry in low-light conditions
R-360 PRO Studs, offering vibrant daytime colours alongside high-performance retro-reflection, delivering 24/7 visual guidance
KERBEYE Units, applied to build-out kerbing to reinforce roadside awareness and reduce the risk of low-speed kerb strikes
GUARD-RAIL Reflectors, affixed to pedestrian guardrails at key crossings and junctions to significantly enhance visibility of these protective barriers at all times
By combining vertical and horizontal reflectivity, the scheme now offers:
Greater definition of pedestrian crossing points and passive infrastructure
Improved driver navigation through complex or traffic-calming layouts
Reduced likelihood of missed crossings, erratic manoeuvres, or edge strikes
Delivered with minimal disruption and completed entirely during night-time works, this project demonstrates how targeted retro-reflective upgrades can offer a high-impact, cost-effective alternative to traditional road safety improvements.
